The purpose of this assignment is to improve the skills that you learned in Project 2.  You are going to create your own Excel worksheet entitled My Portfolio in which you will follow the progress of up to six stocks over a two-week time period. Assuming that you have $10,000 to spend, go to Yahoo Finance home page.

• click on S & P 500

• click on components

This will give you a listing of the 500 stocks that make up the Standard and Poor's Index.  Determine how many shares you wish to buy and try to stay within the $10,000 limit.  Set up your spreadsheet as you did for the Betnet Stock Club Project 2.  Two worksheets will be submitted to me on Monday, February 24.  One dated for the period ending February 18 and the other February 24. 

In order to get prices for February 18 follow the steps below:

• Double click on your stock symbol.

• Double click on historical prices.

• Find the closing price for February 18.

• Use this price to determine the current value of your investment.

• In the % Gain/Loss column apply a conditional format to all losses.

• Have fun and hope you will make some wise investments.
