The Manchester Regional’s Social Studies Department proudly sponsored “Hippie Day” on Wednesday May 25th. All United States History II and A.P. United States History students were invited to participate. “Hippie Day” is the culmination of our unit on the 1960’s, Vietnam War, and life and society of the 1970’s. Students are asked to create their own “Hippie” persona for the day and achieve points, by getting signatures from various administrators, students, teachers, and staff. Extra credit is awarded if the student can convince the signee to take a picture with them. As you can see from the photos below, “Hippie Day” 2016 was a huge success. Special thanks to Mr. Ala & Mr. Ickles for running this project with their U.S. History II students, and for the entire Manchester Regional faculty for their gracious reception.
