Field Trip Guidelines

 

Below is the step-by-step guidance on how field trips will be approved for PC Manchester.

  • Review field trip plan with supervisor
  • Fill out Field Trip Form and Request Form (link)
    • For that form ensure you have funding source for trip. If payment not to be made by collection from students or from a General Organization Account, please speak to main office.
    • For Buses with a small number of students, the district can contract with Haledon Board of Education for use of their bus. They have two (2) 15 passenger buses. The cost for each bus is $100 per day, provided it is available on day in question. The Business Office will ensure that it is.
  • Secure approvals (Supervisor and Principal)
  • Submit to Superintendent and Business Offices for approval and placement on Board agenda
  • Transportation Coordinator will arrange transportation and will email teacher cost of transportation
  • Business Administrator will approve all costs related to trip
  • Main Office will handle  Purchase Order if needed
  • Business Office will handle General Organization Account if payment to come from there
  • Transportation Coordinator will forward confirmation to Main Office and/or teacher
  • Student permission slips must be returned at least 1 week before the date of the trip
  • A list of students going on the trip must be emailed to all staff at least 48 hours before the day of the trip
  • Mrs. Carr, Mr. Rodriquez, and the School Counselors must approve/deny individual student participation. Medical concerns, students on the restricted list, and attendance concerns will be red-flagged and appropriate notice will be given to/by the teacher in charge
  • If the trip is cancelled, the teacher/advisor must notify the Board Office, Lisa Ferrante and Brenda Galletta so cancellations can go into effect, and the teacher/advisor must notify the full staff via email

 Please allow for enough lead time for these trips. All trips must be board approved prior to taking them. Paperwork and monies must be submitted one (1) month in advance of all trips
