Kathleen Gonzales

Kathleen has lived most of her life in Haledon.  In June of 1966, Katheen graduated from Haledon Public Schools.   Then in June of 1970 she graduated from Manchester Regional High School.

At the age of twelve, Kathleen dreamed of becoming a teacher.  Graduating from William Paterson College in May of 1974 she fulfilled her dream.  After a 40-year career in the field of education, Kathleen retired from Rutherford Public Schools as a Learning Consultant on the Child Study Team.

Kathleen has one son who she raised in Haledon.  He was also a graduate of Haledon Public Schools in June of 1995 and Manchester Regional High School in June of 1999.  While Kathleen raised her son Michael, she was active in helping the PAL provide sporting activities to the children of Haledon.

Once retired, Kathleen decided to give back to the community that gave her so very much.  In the past, Kathleen was on the Haledon Board of Education.  Currently, besides being on the MRHS Board of Education, she is on the Board of Trustees for the Haledon Library, runs a book club for the Haledon Library for the past 12 years, and started a foundation to support the Haledon Library.

Kathleen wants all children be able to live their dreams.  She hopes her participation on the Manchester Board of Education can help provide opportunities to the students of Manchester, so they can achieve their goals and live their dreams to the fullest.
