Standing in Solidarity: A Message of Support to the Falcon Family

Dear Manchester Students & Family,

George Floyd. Ahmaud Arbery. Sean Reed. Breonna Taylor. Tamir Rice. Trayvon Martin. Aiyana Stanley.

As a community we have witnessed countless tragic deaths and the resulting traumatic effects of systematic racism and police brutality in our country. We acknowledge these injustices and stand in solidarity with our students, families and community to speak out against oppression and racial inequality. We want our students to know that we see you. We hear you. We support you. We stand by you.

In light of everything we are watching and living, we want to assure you that the Manchester Regional High School community will continue to be a place that celebrates diversity.  In the spirit of that diversity, we feel it is important to encourage conversations about race, privilege, and the Black Lives Matter movement.  To aid in this crucial discussion, the Wellness and Support Services team has put together a variety of resources and supports in a special edition Falcon Wellness Newsletter for this week which you will find attached to this email.  We are hopeful this information can offer helpful tips on allyship, self care, mental wellness, and educational resources to enhance our understanding of racial identity, racism and systemic oppression.

Please know that we all share in your pain, anger and frustration and we are all here to support you.  If you need to reach out, the following individuals at Manchester are available to you:

The following support staff can be reached via email, please provide them with the best number to reach you and they will reach out- Monday through Friday 8am- 3pm.
