Important Information from the MRHS Student Assistance Coordinator (SAC)

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students of MRHS,

This email is to share important information regarding naloxone (narcan) trainings within your communities. For those who may not know the function of naloxone, it is "a medicine that rapidly reverses an opioid overdose" (National Institute on Drug Abuse, 2022). Unfortunately, there is an ongoing drug epidemic within the country, and while the hope is that one never has to use the information learned within a naloxone training, it is better to be prepared than not if a situation were to ever arise. This map was created by United for Prevention in Passaic County and provides many locations that offer these useful trainings.

Simply paste the link above into your browser, then click on "National Naloxone Map" and enter the zip code of where you reside. A list of pharmacies that offer these trainings will then appear, and you may then reach out to the pharmacy to inquire about receiving the training. I would also like to add that these trainings are FREE! Again, hopefully the information learned within the training will never have to be utilized by you, however you truly can never be too safe in today's world.

If you have any questions regarding this topic, please reach out to me (Ms. Silverman - MRHS Student Assistance Coordinator). My email is [email protected] and my work number is 973-389-2859.

Thank you for your time,
Julia Silverman
