Deepani Goonatilleke
Ms. Goonatilleke was selected teacher of the month of May for the 2019/2020 school year. Since we began instructing our students virtually, Ms. Goonatilleke has made herself available to all her students all hours of the day and night. During this trying time, Ms. Goonatilleke took it upon herself to give as much of her time and energy as possible to help her Chemistry students be successful. If that meant, waiting for a phone call between 8-10pm at night to help her students understand the topic at hand, then that’s what she did. Ms. Goonatilleke was not intimidated by trying new ways to reach her students virtually. She felt whatever means necessary was vital to assist in their understanding and learning.
