MRHS Falcon eSports Reach Rocket League Quarter-Finals

MRHS Falcon eSports has reached a new milestone by qualifying for the EGFH Rocket League Spring 2019 Quarter-Finals! Our team of Emmanuel Rodriguez, Hashem Abokaf, and Darius Justiniano will be playing the Centreville High School Wildcats of Virginia on Tuesday, April 30th at 4pm in a best-of-7 contest. The winner will go on to play the winner of the Quarter-Final match between two Connecticut high schools, and then hopefully onto the winners of the Alaska Finals! eSports partner EGFH will be streaming our match, with professional commentary, on their Twitch channel @ https://www.twitch.tv/officialegf

Educator of the Month for March

Congratulations to Mr. Yob for being selected as the Educator of the Month for March! Mr. Yob is a member of our Technology Department. Students have the opportunity to learn network administration and TV production among many other high interest and authentic career skills. Furthermore, Mr. Yob is always willing to chip in to make MRHS the best high school it can be by bringing in new programming and designing new courses. For example, Mr. Yob brought Drone Club and the Summer Drone Academy to life at MRHS. Most recently, Mr. Yob has piloted an Esports program with a group of MRHS students which holds promise to grow into another high interest co-curricular activity. Thank you for your service Mr. Yob.

Educator of the Month for February

Congratulations to Ms. Tischler for being selected as the Educator of the Month for February! Ms. Tischler is a dedicated member of our Child Study Team and serves MRHS in many capacities. She never shies away from volunteering and performs her duties humbly and with care. Our student body is lucky to have her as a sound support.

Badminton Tournament

Student Council held its first ever Badminton Tournament on Wednesday, March 13th. Fourteen teams competed in a double elimination tournament style. Softball coaches, Mr. Chinskey and Mr. Tavarez, changed roles and became the badminton referees for the night! Student Council members helped with the snackstand, keep score, and announce the bracket standings. Rayhan Miah and Sadik Siraji won first place in the tournament! Overall, it was a great event that Student Council is hoping to do annually!

SEPAC Meeting

The Department of Special Services would like to invite you to our 2nd SEPAC meeting which will be held on March 19th at the Manchester Regional High School Library from 6:30-8 PM. At this meeting, multiple teachers from both the elementary school and the high school have volunteered their time to provide you information, tips and strategies to use at home with your children to assist them with math, reading, studying, behavioral concerns as well as other areas. Please mark your calendars and stop in to connect with the community and learn additional techniques to use with your children at home. Childcare will be provided by our very own National Honor Society students. We look forward to seeing you there. Again, the meeting will be held on March 19th, at the Manchester Regional High School Library from 6:30-8PM. Thank you.
